Opting for self-pay for your mental healthcare offers several advantages over using insurance:
Lower Overall Costs: With no high deductibles, co-pays, or premiums, self-pay often results in reduced expenses. You’ll benefit from transparent pricing with no surprise bills, making it easier to budget for your care.
More Personalized Care: Self-pay allows you to choose your provider without the limitations of insurance networks. You’ll experience faster access to treatment and greater flexibility in managing your mental health.
No Insurance Hassles: Without the need for insurance approvals or pre-authorizations, you can start your treatment right away, avoiding delays and interruptions in your care.
At our clinic, we believe self-pay offers more control, flexibility, and simplicity, often leading to a better overall mental health experience.
Why Choose Self-Pay?
Good Faith Estimate Notice
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychiatry services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
